It was okay, but not for me
, September 30, 2012
My daughter, who is in her thirties, was wearing the Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation and it looked so beautiful on her that I had to order some too. Her skin looked flawless, but like she had no makeup on. It was very matte looking, but yet very natural. She had the beige 1.0. My skin is lighter, so I ordered it in beige 0.5. Usually, I would wear foundation in ivory, but I was told the Mary Kay is much lighter on than it appears in the package.I was so excited to try it that I immediately washed my face and started my whole makeup regime with this new powder. Hmmm…somehow it didn’t look the same on me as it did on my daughter. On me, it almost magnified every pore and imperfection. I tried it again about 4 more times throughout the week, and it never seemed to get any better–just made me look like I had huge pores and lots of lines. Also, I think I could have used a lighter shade, but I think the pores would have been even worse–showing up darker. My conclusion is that this powder seems to look its best on younger skin that doesn’t have a whole lot to cover up. Even with lots of moisturizer, it just didn’t look right on me. It just sat on the surface of my skin and didn’t reach into the pores, so the pores looked like dark craters in a luminous skin. Yes, I did use the Mary Kay brush, and buffed it thoroughly, but just couldn’t get it to look right.
I’m glad I tried it because I love experimenting with makeup, but I went back to the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme 24-hour makeup in Ivory, and no more pores!

Another Great Mary Kay Product!

Not that their liquid foundation wasn’t good, but I will never go back once I started using their mineral powder foundation. It is divine. I recommend it to everyone!

This review is from: Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation Ivory 0.5 (Misc.)
I love powder to begin with but its always difficult for me to find a shade that is not too dark on my skin however this matches my skin tone perfectly. My order came quickly and also came with free samples. Will buy from this seller again.
